Canadian educational institutions are quite diverse and provide a sense of teamwork rivaling that of the working environment. Most prospective international students are required to have both a student visa and study permit, but it really depends on your country of origin. Also, a study permit is not required if the program is under 6 months, but the disadvantage is that you will not be able to work off campus while attending school.

Students are allowed to change between designated learning institutions, however, they are required to inform Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) of the change. Post Graduate Diplomas are very popular, lasting in most instances for 8 months, unless it involves co-op. Health insurance is also covered in the tuition cost.

Student visas are valid up to 90 days after the program completion date and your spouse and dependent child/children can accompany you. They may also be eligible for a study permit, work permit, or visitor visa.

Being schooled in the Canadian education system provides you and your family the opportunity to work and then apply for Permanent Residence (PR)
